The Rudolf Steiner School Basel has conferences for school governance, pedagogy and administration. There are also conferences for the various levels – primary, middle and secondary. The conference management is made up of members from the conference boards and manages the school at the operational level. The Rudolf Steiner School Basel is – in legal terms – an association, managed by a board. The board mandates the finance committee, the parental contributions committee and runs the school association sessions. It is composed of school staff and parents. The conferences are held on Thursdays. The school staff and teachers govern the school together via these conferences. Decisions are reached by consensus or with a simple majority. We do not have a school principal but there are clearly defined delegations. The afternoon starts with the school management conference at 2.30 p.m. followed by the pedagogic and administrative conference starting at 4.15 p.m. After an evening break the conferences for the individual school levels begin.

The parent’s association has a clearly defined mandate in the framework of which it represents the interests of the school parents. Each class and each kindergarten elects a representative for the parent’s association, which meets every two months. You can submit requests via email
